Aboard the Uss coral sea (cv-43) one day in 1979 During rare off watch time in the gulf of oman watching flight ops from the admiral’S bridge level catwalk, I spotted a young sailor popping up on the port side flight deck catwalks to take pictures of flight ops. A flight deck safety Chief on deck repeatedly waved the guy down but the dummy persisted in popping up to shoot launches of aircraft.. finally I saw the Chief sneak over and hide behind a nearby refueling station. When the guy popped up the Chief grabbed him and proceeded to take that young sailor on a firmly held guided tour of flight deck during full flight ops. You should have seen that guy squirm & flop around as the Chief pulled him behind some revving F-4 Phantoms.
