Not mine but my dad's story. WWII Pearl harbor. he and a buddy stole a dingy and went out with a battle lantern and a homemade harpoon and and good length of 1/8 in. Cable to do some night fishing. Dad was shining the light into the water and his friend was harpooning the fish. Dad shined the light into the water one time and this big shape came up. Before he could get the word noooo... Out, his friend harpooned about a 10 foot shark. He said that shark towed them all over the harbor before they got free.
